Mail servers may reject emails that cross a certain size threshold due to mail attachments that are included in the email. The threshold is usually in the 20 Megabyte region but it is defined by the mail provider, which means that it may be more or less in your case. The problem here is that this is a custom variable, which means that you may run into returned email problems because the receiving email provider has a lower size threshold than yours.

This is competition at work: earlier this week, Google announced that it would reduce the price of its standard Google Cloud Storage by just a bit over 20%. Then, Amazon announced that it would reduce the price of its S3 cloud storage service by about 25% across the board. Yesterday, in a somewhat surprising move, Google announced that it would reduce the price of Cloud Storage by yet another 10%, resulting in a total price reduction of over 30% once you include the earlier cut.

Google has dropped cloud storage pricing 20 percent, has added a set of new features, and is expanding its availability in Europe — all in advance of rival Amazon Web Service’s (AWS) first major event this week in Las Vegas. With the drop in pricing, Google is offering a new service called Durable Reduced Availability Storage, a service that allows people to store data at a lower price by limiting its availability.

Google is again taking aim at Apple in the mobile space, setting its sites on developing an AirPlay challenger. According to a GigaOm report, the Web giant is working on an alternative to Apple's wireless feature and hopes to attract the interest of device and software vendors with the effort. A Google representative declined to comment specifically on its plans for the features and said to Stay tuned to see this feature coming to more devices and screens in the future.

According to a new report, Google is testing a pre-release version of its mapping service for Apple's iOS devices. The software is already undergoing testing beyond Google employees, it is expected to contain turn-by-turn navigation, just like its Android counterpart. That very same feature was said to be one of the main sticking points in negotiations between the two companies that led to Apple creating its own mapping software.

Google is rolling out a new search page layout that moves its navigational tools from the upper left of the page to the top of the page. Those included in the rollout so far will see a more streamlined search page. Removing the tools from the side doesn't give the results more real estate though. Curiously, some of the results don't have any advertisements displayed with them, but that may be a glitch from the testing as Google assures that the advertising placements remain the same.

Google announced mobile support for its Google Wallet checkout service, which expanded to include micropayments for web content earlier this month. At that time, Google said it would allow online shoppers to purchase premium digital content, ideally priced under $1.00, which also included a 30-minute money-back refund. Google is expanding its service yet again to an area that makes even more sense: mobile shopping.

Google Earth 7 for the desktop landed yesterday with features familiar to anyone who has used the mobile version recently, including new 3D imagery and a virtual tour guide designed to highlight interesting places around the world. Virtual tours are available for more than 11,000 sites around the world, including popular attractions like the Grand Canyon, Eiffel Tower, and St. Peter's Basilica.

The search giant is set to debut the latest version of its Android operating system, known as Android 4.2, at an event scheduled for October 29 in New York. Rather than the rumored Key Lime Pie, it will be known as Android 4.2+, or an updated version of Jelly Bean, according to a person familiar with the announcement. Google will also be showing off the first devices to run on Android 4.2, including a high-end tablet, the Nexus 10, from Samsung Electronics, and LG Electronics's first Nexus phone, the Nexus 4. Also shown off will be an updated version of the Nexus 7 tablet which debuted in July.
