Hi,

i) I've read in an earlier topic that there was problems with loading Layer Genie in DMX 2004 for Mac OS X. This is correct. In the majority of cases, you will receive the Loading.... and nothing else happens. There appears to be workround for this however. If you have another program open and click on this and then click back on DMX 2004, Layer Genie appears. I can only assume that it has loaded, but there is obviously some refresh problem.

ii) Although I know it doesn't mention support for it, how long do you think it will be before Safari will work with Layer Genie? At the moment, in the majority of cases the layers do not disappear on 'mouseout' event. I know I haven't done anything wrong, because it doesn't work on the online demos either! The main reason for bringing this topic up is IE5 will not be the main browser for Mac much longer as it appears Microsoft have admitted they will be bringing no more new versions for Mac. If this is the case for Layer Genie to be fully Mac compatible, it might be an idea to have it ready for what is now the default Mac browser for Mac OS X.

Other than these two points, a great product!

The extension has loaded fully, but there is indeed a refresh problem in MX2004 on MacOSX.
When the user interface is fully loaded, the 'loading' layer is explicitly told to hide itself, but that doesn't trigger MX2004 on Mac to refresh the screen. Clicking somewhere outside DW and then returning to DW is a workaround.

We've been able to fix it though, so the next version of Layer Genie will not show this problem anymore.

Layer Genie worked in Safari beta, and it should work in the final release as well. Next week I will test several extensions, including Layer Genie, extensively on MacOSX, so this issue should be solved real soon.

A Layer Genie update is scheduled for this month...!
