With Layer Genie can you create a vertical flyout menu down the left side, and also create a horizontal drop down menu at the top on the same page? You mentioned in another topic that you would be releasing another version soon. Is that available free for those who've purchased?

Yes, you certainly can.
To make Layer Genie aware of menu layers that have relationships (eg. when one layer is shown, the others need to be hidden), you assign them to the same 'menu group'.
In this case, with a horizontal and vertical menu on the same page, you would need to assign the horizontal menu layers to one group and the vertical menu layers to another one.

Yes, and as a matter of fact the new version (1.06) has been released somewhat over a week ago. You can download it from the Layer Genie product page. Just make sure you are logged in with the username/password that you used to purchase the extension.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. It sounds like you've answered my question, but I just want to clarify something. When you say that the vertical menu would be hidden while the horizontal one is being used, you mean the flyout menus, right?

What I'm asking is that both of the main menus can be visible at the same time, but the flyout or dropdown features would only be active for one, right?

Yes <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
Layer Genie only controls the layers that you tell it to control.

Thanks! While I was browsing the forums I read that you state that Layer Genie doesn't create the menu layers, but just assigns the layers as to whether or not they will be the Parent (main) Menu, or the Child (flyout) menus.

If I'm reading that correctly then I'll need to create all the various layers that I would be using as menus.

Am I correct?

Yes, that's correct.
Layer Genie can be used for more things than just building flyout menu systems.

Check out the online tutorials. They will give you an idea of how Layer Genie works.
