Hi yea,
I have a repeat region and linking my thumbnail to the larger daddy using layer genie, I managed to get the layers dynamic too, by entering the primary key into part of the layer name
so I end up with unique layer names. this works fine. when i applied the layer genie I entered the dynamic name and this all works. but I find it is slow and sometimes I need to refresh the page to show the image in the daddy. all the thumb nails work, if you refresh the page then click on another thumbnail then the large image shows.

is there a way or something I can do to make it work that bit faster. it seems like when i click on to a thumbnail it does not get the click.

You've put the 'Show Layer Genie' trigger on the onClick event of the IMG tg itself. which is less predictive and less cross-browser than putting it on an A tag surrounding the IMG tab, eg.:

Correct that and the page should be fine.

Thanks for the help, I did try what you said and huumm still getting a bit of bother , it seems to work and then not work, i.e it seems to show the large image about three times and then stops where as it wont show nothing. any ideas as to what I should try next .

I find refreshing the page lets me use the effect after it stops working.

Hi Kenny,

When you show a layer, you need to hide the other layers. Otherwise the layer with the highest z-index will always be on top and is thus covering the other ones.
That way it "seems" as if the other layers aren't showing.

To automatically hide all other layers when displaying the layer for the thumbnail that was clicked on, you can use the 'layer grouping' feature. Layer Genie will then always only show one layer of a given group and make sure all other layers from the same group are hidden.
To use this feature, just check the 'Layer is member of menu groep' box in the Show Layer Genie dialog and put them all in the same group (= do not change the group number in the select list).

I do find thought a slight problem, it may be a bug I am not too sure, it is when i have clicked on a thumbnail and the daddy pic shows, then if I pass my cursor back and forth between the thumbnail pics and the daddy pic the daddy pic closes. other ise I am very very happy.

Make sure to uncheck the 'Auto-hide layer onMouseOut' option (on the '(Auto-)hide' tabpage in the Show Layer Genie dialog), because that would cause the 'daddy layer' to hide when the mouse is moved off the layer.

Because the grouping feature is primarily intended for building menus where you would indeed want the layer to hide onMouseOut, I think this option may have been checked automatically when you checked the 'layer belongs to group' option on the 1st tabpage.

this is just a sample of it working , ok it is not the best as it was done as a test, but I am very pleased as I can use layer geni to call data from my database with out refreshing the page, I use the Pure upload to insert my images and bingo,
