I'm trying to resize the width and height of my genie scroller and want to do it without editing each layer. Is this possible or does it mean recreating the scroller again?

You can only set the width/height of the scroller when it is inserted into the page.

It can't be altered afterwards, at least not through some automated interface.
You can try to change the width/height manually (by changing the CSS definitions), but you will also need to manually recalculate the positions of all dependent scroller elements.

But my advice would be to recreate the scroller. It is much less painful.
Just cut your scroller content and paste it temporarily in some other location on your page or in an otherwise blank HTML file.
Then remove the old scroller and create a new one.
Then cut/paste the old content into the new scroller.

Hope this helps.

If you mean that you want your scroller content to come from a database: that very easy. Just define your scroller first and then treat the scroller content layer as if it were a regular HTML page. Eg. define your DB repeat region within the scroller.

Hi Marja,

I'm having difficulty anchoring my scroller to my page so that it stays within a specified page area when the browser resizes and doesn't shift position. It works on one file but not on another. Is there a preference I may have missed as it seems to keep moving?

If it works on one file and not an another, then it's likely that there's something wrong in the page with the problem.
But I can't say anything about the cause without seeing your working page.
Can you point me to an URL?

Another quote from your page:
<pre id=code><font face=courier size=2 id=code>&lt;img src="file://///Clg01/web/intranew/city/2004/images/shim.gif" alt="" width="282" height="188" border="0" <font color=red>body</font id=red> onLoad="dmxFSG1(1,1,2,25,0,0,0,0,'scrolleranchor',2,0,0,1);MM_preloadImages('file://///Clg01/web/intranew/city/2004/images/0061vup_over.gif','file://///Clg01/web/intranew/city/2004/images/0061thumb_over.gif','file://///Clg01/web/intranew/city/2004/images/0061vdown_over.gif')"&gt;</font id=code></pre id=code>
See the part in red: this is invalid HTML and won't work. remove the word 'body' there and see how it goes then.

Thanks for the advice. I now have 2 scrollers working on my page. However, although I have anchored both scrollers in the Behaviours panel, only one is anchoring. Any solutions?
Thanks in advance.

Because the IMG tag has no 'src' value, there is nothing to load and thus the 'onLoad' event does not fire. Try settting the 'src' attribute for that IMG tag to a valid path, eg. to a spacer image ( a transparent GIF).

Let me know whether that works.
