hey, i created a site for a client a while back who was hosted on godaddy and i couldn't get DW to connect either. i had to use ftp:// and a browser. in fact, i called godaddy about this and the guy actually got mad at me for wanting to use DW to connect. he told me ftp'ing in a browser is their preferred method. stupid but on the flipside i know someone who is using frontpage and they are connecting just fine. don't know why or how, but they are.

please don't take this as a frontpage recommendation. hahaha

godaddy sucks, they hire idoits. i had hosting and registration thru them but they wouldn't allow me to modify my root folder or even create a new folder on my root and set as root.. aswell i wasn't able to connect to there database at all... i found omnis.com as a better hosting provider for the same price as godaddy you get 10 gb more. plus i am able to connect to mysql database using GUI administrator. only work around for godaddy was to run and test locally then upload files and change connection string to connect to online database. i would drop godaddy with the quickness if you haven't already. and try out omnis.com.
