I've just purchased and installed this extension and am having problems.

Can open Active Slideshow Pro from within Dreamweaver and begin to create
a slideshow. Add a couple of slides with incoming transitions and motion.
Then click on OK and get following error:

"While executing onClick in Active Slideshow Pro.htm, a JavaScript error
occurred."

So I can't save a slideshow. I'm stuck in the Active Slideshow Pro window.

I'm using:
WinXP Pro
Dreamweaver MX

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Could you please run the Active Slideshow Pro from the Commands menu - this will result in more detailed error message.

Please do so and let me know what the exact error is

Greetings,
George

I have been running the extension from within Dreamweaver and have launched it using the Commands...Active Slideshow Pro menu. I get the Javascript error as described. Should I be able to see a more detailed error message?

Thanks.

1. Open Dreamweaver MX, select File...New to create a new page. Choose "Basic Page", "HTML" and "Make XHTML compliant". Save doc as e.g. "test.htm"

2. With cursor in the body tag, select Commands...Active Slideshow Pro from Dreamweaver menu.

3. In Active Slideshow Pro window, on General tab:
- key in a name e.g. testslideshow
- key in width (300px) and height (200px)

4. In Active Slideshow, on Slides tab:
- click Add a slide
- browse to select an image for the slide e.g. xyz.jpg
- accept all defaults for effect, easing, start position, end position, zoom start, zoom end
- click Add a slide
- browse again to select a second jpg
- again accept all defaults for effect etc

5. Click OK to save the slideshow

6. Get error box headed "Macromedia Dreamweaver MX" saying "While executing onClick in Active Slideshow Pro.htm, a JavaScript error occurred". There are 2 buttons: OK and Cancel.

7. Click OK and get a second error box headed "Macromedia Dreamweaver MX" saying "While executing onClick in Active Slideshow Pro.htm, a JavaScript error occurred". This time there is only 1 button saying OK.

8. Click on the OK button and this returns me to the Active Slideshow Pro window. Can only get out of this window by clicking Cancel.

9. Looking at the site files in Dreamweaver, a new file called "slideshowpro.swf" has been created. If I double-click on this file, either in Dreamweaver or simply by browsing to the file in My Computer, it opens up Macromedia Flash Player 6. The Flash player window is black with an error message across the middle saying "Unable to load/parse XML. File: slideshow.xml (status: 0)".

So am I doing something wrong? Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,

This must be something in DW MX - however you don't really need to specify with & height - those are only for the overlay ....

Try without specifying width and height - see if it works.
