Hi, I'm new here so please be gentle.

I'm in the process of learning the complex world of web design and now at a point in learning how to create my own buttons/tabs.

Using fireworks I have managed to do a simple button but with one simple error. Let me explain. I first selected a new canvas at 200x200 and entered a normal button sized rectangle. I rounded of the edges, chose my preferred color and even bevelled the edge for effect. All looked good when I saved this project however when inserting the button onto dreamweaver I can still see the area of the rectangle that should have disappeared when I rounded the edges. When previewing in internet explorer it' still the same.

So in a nutshell, I've created a button with nice soft, rounded edges however the square edge remains in the background. I'm sure this must be an easy fix so if anyone can suggest a method to resolve this I would be most grateful.

Thanks

Hi Tony,

Sorry this Is very late.

Make sure your canvas colour is set to transparent (modify/canvas/canvas colour) and when exporting your image ensure it is in a gif format with index transparency selected.

Hope this helps
