I have a rectangle (975 X 84) that is the width of my page. I made it with 5 markers, almost equally spaced. Dark brown on the ends, fading in to reddish brown, and a tan color in the middle.

When I preview it in my browser (IE), it appears to have very strong linear lines in it as the color gradates. I have tried using more markers, less markers, changing the colors to lessen the contrast in colors, and messed around with the handle. Nothing seems to make it any better.

Does anyone have any idea how I can deal with this, or more probably, what I am doing wrong??

thanks, shelley
