Hi,

I have created an image library but it doesn't work on my Mac in Safari 2. Also, neither do the demos on your site but you say they should work in Safari 2. What happens is, as soon as you try and load the page Safari just quits.

Is there a problem with the plugin or is it just my Mac?

Works fine everywhere else though.

Thanks,
Jez

Hi Jez,

We have tested the CSS Image Gallery at Safari 3 (under Windows XP) and it worked without problems.

Please make sure that your option <b>Enable JavaScript </b> is checked.

Check the image below:

If this does not solve the problem try to update your Safari to version 3.
You can download Safari 3 from through the following link:

Hi Georgi,

I do already have Javascript enabled, but isn't it suppposed to work WITHOUT Javascript enabled? That's what the documentation says anyway. I did wonder when I saw all the Javascript that was needed to make it work whether it would work without it!

As not many people will be using Safari 3 yet as it's only a beta, this isn't really going to help Mac users who will be viewing the site. Can't really tell them all to upgrade! The bottom line is that it is supposed to work with Safari 2 and it doesn't seem to.

Looks like I will have to create a separate gallery for Mac users, which is a real pain.

Is there someone I can email to find out for sure if it works or not in Safari 2?

Thanks for your help,
Jez

The images are displayed and when there is not enabled the JavaScript but it is less interactive.
(In this case, the images are displayed as simple list)

Also, we have prepared test of the CSS Image Gallery on Safari 2 (mac) and it also worked without any problem.
Check if you have any Popup Blocker software enabled.

I've got the exact same problem. I can't use this if it's going to crash the visitor's browser. As designers we cannot control the setup of the visitor's browser, nor dictate to them what they need to change in order to view our websites...

Unless CSS Gallery is fixed so that it works on Safari 2 then it's no good to us i'm afraid.

FYI:

Mac OS X 10.3.9
Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6)

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Currently CSS Image Gallery is tested on Safari 2.0 and we cannot reproduce this issue.
At the official page of the extension it is stated that the CSS Image Gallery work with <b>Safari 2.0+</b>

At this point, we cannot provide compatibility with the older version of the browser.
