I tried to make an area (hotspot) on an image and want to open the tooltip top center, but it always opens on the top of the site. With the old version (v.2) it worked. Any idea??
Thanks and best regards
Günter

Hello Günter,
Could you please provide a link to your testing page?

Here ist the example

If you move with the mouse over BAD, you can see that the tooltip is not top center. If I don't use a hotspot, it works.
Best regards

Hello Günter,

There are some problems with Advanced Tooltips calculating its actual position, when using mapped regions. The workaround that i can recommend you for now is to set the tooltip position to 'Next to the mouse cursor' or to 'Enter coordinates'.
I'll pass this problem to the developer.

Hi
Has a solution been found for this problem?
If I set "next to the cursor" the tip may be off the right of the page if the map area is close to the edge.
see www.ukcsconferences.com/floorplanDM.asp level 3 stand 1 as an example.
I would rather not have to calculate coordinates for all the tips.
Thanks, hopefully.

Has the hotspot problem been fixed? It's been a while since the last post. You should mention major bugs like this in the description of the extension. That way people can make an informed decision on purchasing. I know I would not have bought the gizmo if I knew it wasn't going to work with image maps.

I purchased Advanced Tooltip today (8th June 2011) and have just found that the bug with image maps (14 Jan 2010) is still present in the extension. I have also found that the bug with regard to Div tags not loading (raised in another thread 23 sep 2009) is still present as well. The basic extension features work, i.e you can make a simple tooltip, however these two bugs stop the use of creative design and time saving workflow. Can you please confirm that both these features should be working.

Ok, I have worked out that with image map hotspots the resulting tooltips have nine positions based around the background image. So regardless of the number of hotspots there are only nine positions. However by using colour groups to relate to different areas of the image you can build some nice effects. In some cases placing tooltips near the cursor works OK if the carefully designed.

To get around the DIV tag issue which I can't crack at the moment I'm writing html tags directly into the content box and that is almost as good.

Hello Trevor,

Are you trying to get a hidden div shown inside the tooltip?

Hi. Yes a hidden Div. I have found that I need to use the jQuery option, auto detect does not work. Also the hidden div layer needs to be positioned at 0,0 (are near) to position it correctly inside the resulting tooltip. I also need to size the tooltip manually as it won't autosize based on the div size.

But its now working. The online video is missing a lot of setup detail.
