HTML5 Video Player Makes First Appearance

January 26, 2011

Meet the Future of Web Video!

As promised, today we give you a sneak preview of our upcoming HTML5 Video Player extension for Dreamweaver. Our developers are still fine-tuning it and it will be completely done next week, but we'll continue to deliver some great demos made with it.

The Story

No Strings Attached Movie Trailer

For this demo we used 3 video formats: mp4, webm and ogv so you can preview the movie trailer on all modern browsers as well as the ancient ones (such as IE6), thanks to the smart flash fallback.

Problems - playback kills page

January 26, 2011 by Mark Gason

Hi,

I understand that this is not a finished product, so I am not complaining just hoping this information will help with development, because I would like to use it.

I am running Mac OS X 10.6.6 (10J567), using the latest build of Chrome (8.0.552.237). Whenever I try to run the "No Strings Attached" demo the movie starts to load and then I get the google dialog box "The following pages have become unresponsive." "HTML Player" AND "HTML Player Makes First Appearance". Both pages are dead.

This happens every time. I have never got past one line of dialog with no picture.

Everything works just fine in Safari.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. We really appreciate it and will make sure that it works on all browsers, even the really old ones. :)
