You can select which column can be searchable(depending also to field type as well), sortable and hidden. You can let the user to choose which colum to hide or to show by choosing from hidden menu in left end of each column title-cell.You can place a button to collapse the grid.Press the magnifying glass at the bottom left to access the search function. Grid can be resizable or static. Also you can have the toolbar removed if you like.
