have this problem

When I insert an image, it is entering a path relative to my admin document so that when I view the live page in the root of the site it does not show.

If I edit the path in Source View to show the correct path, even the Full URL your editor changes it back.

Why is this happening?

Hi Bart,

First editing in code view should go fine, I've tested changing many images and it worked all fine.

Image after upload are currently inserted with relative path. This might indeed not always be what you want indeed if you have the display page in other folder structure than the edit page.

So we will be adding a new option in the next update to allow site root absolute links or even full urls for the images.

Greetings,
George

The problem is that it will not work in a beta folder.

While working on changes for a site, I create a folder named /beta/ in the root and have a copy of the site there.

When I create a page using the pages at /beta/_admin it shows the image in the admin pages but not in the page within the beta folder.

When I uploaded the admin folder, all scripts and the new display page into the root rather than beta it works fine.

Site is setup with links relative to Document, not Root.

Can I get around this issue? I work this way extensively, with literally dozens of sites and need to be able to work on the live server without overwriting existing content.

Aside from this issue, why can I not edit the path of an image in Source View if I used the upload to put it there? Why is your app controlling something that is hand coded? This is the same issue as your insistence on re-inserting or correcting include files for features like lightbox. If I hand code it, I expect it to be left as I put it.

The addition of an Absolute folder would help but you need to test as I described above because once I insert an image working from within my beta folder I cannot edit that image in source view.

In summary.

If my update page, with editor is here:

{ROOT}/Admin - The relative paths work perfectly and I can edit as I wish.

If my update page is here:

)ROOT)/beta/Admin - The relative path works in Editor, but not the public or generated page and it CANNOT be edited in source view.

Hi all,
I have just installed ADV HTML editor 3.3.2 and I have the same problem.
I'm developing a website locally using easyphp.
If I understand correctly there should be an option to manage image links. But where?
I see there is a "link handling" option but not a "image link option". Should I use the "link handling" option to manage image path?
What are the best practise to handle lots of images with adv html 3?
Me too I have a folder (admin) where I store admin pages, but all images are stored on an /upload folder on the root of the site.

I'm thinking to add the filemanager to the editor. Will this help a bit?

TIA

tony

Never mind.
I've set "link handling" to absolute and it works.
