With the new timeline I can't find the way to set a default landing tab page.

Has anyone found a solution to set the first screen with apps created with Facebook Fan Page?

Michele

Ok, thanks Daryl
The new (and only) solution is "Pin to Top"... but we have lost a great marketing opportunity.

You can have three Aps (pages) that you can create custom icons for next to the photos thumbnail. You can have up to 12 in total, but after the intital 4, they will only be available by pressing the more button.

Its not quite as good as the welcome page that we all knew, but I think we will grow to love the new system as its a little more customisable.

If you have a new product you could use a Milestone which will add a huge photo (if you want one) across your timeline as well as a pinned topic which will put a large post at the top of your timeline for a week which is good to highlight a promotion.

We are all a little resistent to change, but this could work well, when we figure it out ;0)

Hi Dave

I too had the same problem but managed to resolve it by doing the following.

Before upgrading my page I deleted the styles folder so that it was recreated by the page setup wizard.

Ensure that the larger page size is selected in the wizard

In the wizard, click the 'Manage Your Custom Tabs/Apps in Facebook' button. Then in the Facebook Developers Apps page, select your App on the left, click 'Edit App' on the top right, then scroll down the the Page Tab settings section, click the Wide (810px) radio button, then click Save Changes.

Ok, this pretty much means you cannot use the LIKE US option for a coupon, or discount code, etc anymore....

So it looks like "fan gates" are a think of the past...

Unless I'm missing something?

The ability still exists to hide content from people who havent liked your page and show them a message to like your page to get a coupon or content...

Just make sure that your app icon and link says something about 'Free Stuuf' or similar to advertise it.

When I'm NOT logged into FB, and I click my app icon, it seems to work...but when I'm AM logged into FB, and I click the app icon, I see:

is this because my site does not support SSL?
