Extension Manager does not find the Dreamweaver 2017 Beta installation.

Can this capability be added to Extension Manager?

Tkseodor,

Thanks for the info & warning, the announcement mentions an update to Extension Manager to support the beta. However when I download the 64 bit Extension Manager and install it (Version 1.1.2) it does not find the Beta installation.

Make sure to run the DW at least once, before trying to use it with the DMXzone EM. Also try restarting the EM itself.

I've tried both suggestions v1.1.2 still does not find the beta.

Note: I am running the beta along side of DW CC 2015. Extension Manager does find DW CC 2015.

Please wait until a topic is complete before marking it as such.

This topic is NOT complete, the problem is not resolved.

For other reasons, I decided to reinstall the OS (Win 10 64 bit) from scratch. I then installed DW CC 2015, opened DW CC 2015 and imported my sites. Installed DW 2017 Beta, opened DW 2017 Beta and a php page. Then installed and opened EM 1.1.2, it only lists DW CC 2015 no entry for the beta.

Hello Dennis, we are currently looking into this.

The strange part is that I have been able to install the extensions into the Beta version in the past. That is how I got embroiled in a slanging match with Latita Nayal. The floating panels were not behaving as they should have.

She has now written to me to test the latest version, but due to an upgrade in the EM I can no longer install the extensions and cannot test. So much for me being an Adobe Beta tester and thanks to DMXZone for being so unhelpful.

As far as Teodor's statement that he is looking into it, a load of rubbish, they already had the solution!

Hello Ben,
I am not really sure what exactly do you mean with your last post, but we are working with DW team on this.

Not sure what happened, but my elaborate reply got lost.

The last line of that reply (I am not in the mood to repeat what I said) sounded like:
If you do not want my involvement just say so.

Hi Ben,
No one ever said we do not your involvement. I hope you understand that this is BETA and not a final version of DW and this leads to many issues. As soon as Adobe fix their stuff and their product starts to work as expected, we will also update our product(s).
As i already explained we are currently working on this with the Adobe guys, so you can expect an update on this later next week.
As always, you should not be worried about DMXzone EM supporting the final release of DW CC 2017.

I owe you guys an apology, from memory I thought it was Teodor that I was communicating with for the Beta release when in fact it was George.

George, having come back from his summer break and fully rested , has been very accommodating and I can now continue testing the extensions.

Great work as usual, bad internal communications that needs fixing.

CC 2017 update installed yesterday and poof, no more extensions! All gone! … DMXZone's EM doesn't even recognize I have DW installed. PVII's EM installs the extensions but they don't appear under the insert panel or menu.

Of course the extensions are not there. DW doesn't transfer them during update. Please check this article: www.dmxzone.com/go/32691/dreamweaver-cc2017-not-detected-in-dmxzone-extension-manager

Thanks so much Teodor! I did have two language folders en_CA and en_US within the Dreamweaver CC 2017 Configuration folder and the en_CA had no version.xml in it. Problem solved when I deleted the en_CA folder!!! DMXZone's EM works now but PVII's still doesn't. Anyway, I'm happy that all my extensions are back and I can get back to work with the new DW CC 2017. Cheers!
