Hi! In editing mode, when I select part of a sentence and I choose a class name via the Styles select box, the class gets assign to the whole paragraph.

What I would like is a span effect if I can say.

How can I go about this in order to get a span tag assignment instead of a paragraph one. Or is it doable ?

Hello Francois Pilon.

Use the "Div" from "format block" drop-down menu in order to achieve the span effect.

Richard is correct - selecting div simply changes the <p> block to a <div> block. What is needed is the ability to insert a <span> around a selected portion of text and to apply the class to that span. I can see no way of doing this without going into the source editor. Frankly, html editor is pretty useless without this capability.

Yes David...I purchased the updated Editor but this bug means I am yet to use it on any of my client sites.

Hello All,

The editor automatically puts SPAN tags around the selected part of the text when for example: you set a text color or a background color.

Sometimes I may want to apply a CSS style to part of a paragraph and this does not work.

Hello all.

I will discuss your need for <span> tag with our developers, and will notify you here if they plan to implement such functionality.
