Hi, I know it's been asked already... but is there any update on a Template Manager of some sort?

Also, Is it possible to add custom buttons, that the user can customise, to say... create a div, or a specific insertion of a block of code etc, i.e., to have one button that would simply insert a blank div... another to insert a div styled with a custom class etc.

This would all need to be coded in Dreamweaver, so all the front end user sees is buttons to accomplish certain tasks.

Thanks

Justin

Hi, thanks for that, but it's not dreamweaver templates I'm worried about... it's having templates within the editor for different layouts. I'd be happy with just being able to insert buttons to add layout code to the page content too.

All I'm doing is trying to make the modification of layouts as easy as possible for my end users.

Hello again Justin

So you need to place buttons within the editor which will provide your end user with the availability to chose between different layout for one same page is that correct ?

Yes, or rather than completely changing a layout... they could build a page simply by clicking the insert code buttons... i.e.:

Button 1: Insert text block floating left with box shadow
Button 2: Insert Image block floating left with box shadow
Button 3: Insert clearing div
Button 4: Insert 2 Column Div
Button 5: Insert 1 Column Div

The Code content of these Buttons would be managed within the plugin, so that for the front end user, when they click Button 1, it would insert the Div, with correct Classes etc so that margins, fonts, everything, is all inserted, just awaiting the user to enter content.

Similar to Inserting a 2 Column Div, that would automatically create the outer box, then 2 inner divs with relevant styling etc.

I have seen something similar in other editors, but would prefer to help suggest ways to make yours better and to make life for my customers easier.

Thanks

Justin

Hello Justin,

Unfortunately this is not possible.

BUT you can use css classes and apply them to any <a href..> tags, paragraphs etc. in order to achieve this.

Hi Teodor,

I know it's possible to do this using standard css classes, but some of my customers aren't too clued in when it comes to CMS systems, that's why I'm using a lot of your plugins, to make things simple.

Don't know how this ended up as a question, as it was more a suggestion for future releases as I think the ability to add custom buttons for code snippets and/or a template feature, would really benefit the end user.

Thanks

Justin

Hello Justin.

Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment.
The closest functionality to your request is mentioned by Teodor above.
Thank you for sharing your idea with us, it will be discussed with our developers.
