Hi,

I'm having trouble with the sort by date function. I've got an events list which is obviously sorted by date, running from an access database. However, when I come to insert the date of the event into the 'insert record' form I have to input it in the american way, i.e. mm/dd/yyyy, instead of the english way dd/mm/yyyy for it to sort it correctly.

I am assigning the 'startdate' in the database as a short date, as I don't call to the 'startdate' at all in ultradev except for the sort function. This is because I don't with this field visible on the events pages.

Please someone help me! It is doing my head in

If you can't figure out that way, why don't you try storing the dates in US format, and reformating them on the display...
you can use the dateformat() function, I don't have the documentation, but you can easily find it on microsoft's site.
