Hello there

I have a problem connecting to my host through Access with ODBC. I can connect to my main hosting company fine as the MySQL is all setup to allow me to connect from any location or computer using ODBC, but with my personal web space its just not working! My personal host is a budget one and they are totally willing to help but don't really work with MySQL, they just know how to do a few things with it.

When I try to connect I get the following error:

ODBC--call failed.

[TCX][MyODBC]Access denied for user: ' ' (Using password: YES) (#1045)

After doing some research and looking through this forum, I have an understanding that this is something to do with the permissions on the database, but neither myself or the host know how to sort this.

Could anyone please help me with this, maybee tell me what they need to type in the MySQL shell to free up permissions if for example my details were:

Host: www.paullacey.co.uk
DBname: thedatabase
U: username
P: password

I would be eternally greatful (again!) if anyone can help me.

thanks

Paul Lacey
