Paul,

Many thanks for your thorough (and straightforward) tutorial. Is there any chance I could request additional advice on the following:

*Advice on configuring/deploying newer releases of Apache/PHP (I'm using 2.0.55 and 5.1.2, respectively).

*Novice recommendations for handling custom web-file locations - I have several sites which I have developed and store locally for testing (before uploading to my webhost). However, these sites reside on a different drive (E<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle> than that which Apache is stored on (C<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>. Is this corrected through "document_root" and "alias" settings, or do I need to copy (or move?) my website files to the http folder w/in Apache? (I'd prefer not.)

*Dreamweaver configuration - Getting all this stuff to preview through dreamweaver for local testing has been a real bummer. I'd like to start playing around with CMS templates, most of which appear to be using PHP. When I set my system up as per instructions, my test page opened (on prompt) within dreamweaver (instead of within the browser).

I realize I'm thowing a lot down, but any help you can offer is DEEEPLY appreciated.

Oh yeah - I'm using Windows XP HOME, SP2

I appreciate your post. I'm really sorry, but there is a lot there - I actually left the IT and web development industry 6 months ago, and I doubt that I will have time to make the changes you ask.

If anyone else is reading this, please feel free to make alterations to my tutorial. I will happily forward the original Word document, from which the pdf was made, so that you can edit it.
