Hi (Marja!)

I have another question for you....

I understand that named anchors is now supported in Scroller Genie, however I'm trying to add some named anchors within my scroller which would then jump to from navigational links at another point on the page. An example of the page in question can be viewed here: www.equinox-group.co.uk/dev/pr/

The links are down the left hand side, and the scroller is to the right. Clicking on any of the links in the left hand side 'sometimes' jumps to a place in the scroller, but always to the wrong place?

Can you please advise me how I can get to the correct anchor - are there any tutorials for using this feature correctly?

Thankyou...
Yours hopefully

LouPhi

You can't use the regular HTML way of jumping to the anchor within the scroller. Instead there is a speciale "behavior" in the Scroller Genie extension to accomplish that. I think it is called "Scroll to anchor" or something like that.

Thanks Marja

When I select either the scrolling area or the navigation links, and then go into "Behaviours" panel, "DMXzone", and then "Scroller Genie", all the options are greyed out - there is one there called 'Scroll to Anchor' but I can't select it as none of the options are available (ALL GREY)???

How do I actually use the features - is there some way of selecting the greyed out options, or to force them to become available?

Please help - my customer is becoming anxious for this to be resolved...

Many thanks
Louise

When you have at least one named anchor within the scroller content, and you select some link somewhere on the page to apply the "jump" behavior to, then the "Scroll to anchor" behavior should not be grayed out.

Yes, thats what I expected, but they are? What could be the reason for this?

You mentioned that this doesn't use the regular HTML way of jumping to the anchor, but I'm assuming I still use the traditional way of inserting the anchor point (ie, <a name="anchor1" id="anchor1"></a&gt or is there a special DMXzone way of inserting the anchor points?

You do have a scroller on the page you're working on?

Yes - you can view the page at www.equinox-group.co.uk/dev/pr/

The anchors are placed within the scrolling area at the beginning of each text point. So 'media relations', 'event management' etc etc, and the respective links down the left hand side need to force the scroller to jump to the appropriate point when clicked. There is no link on the word 'INTRODUCTION' as this point would already be visible as its the first item in the scroller.

I hope you can clear this up for me - its very frustrating seeing the options there, but not being able to select them!

Thanks
Louise

If you are in Design View for your page, and you put you cursor somewhere in a link on the left, e.g. in EVENT MANAGEMENT, and you then select the <A> tag in the lower left corner of the Design View window, you should have the behavior options available.
If not, then I don't understand why the options remain greyed out. Sorry!

Thats not really very helpful. Could it be a bug in my version of Scroller Genie? Are there any updates I need?

Can you tell from the script on the page whether I have done everything right?

Can you send me an example of what code is created when the 'Scroll to Anchor' IS selected? Perhaps I can paste the code into the link manually and see if that works?

I would really appreciate as much help as you can offer.

Thankyou
Louise
