Been noticing some strange things the past 2 days, bigger font sizes, table stacked on top of eachother, ie: left column loaded completely, below that was main content column and below that was the right column, weird seeing that centered in my browser.

Last night i got a debugger pop-up when i opened the news page...
just letting you know

Hi Waldo, George, and Dennis,

Whenever I try to view the tutorials on UDZone now, the right column content overlays the right side of the tutorial content and I'm unable to view all the tutorial. I am using an 800X600 screen resolution. I took a screen shot of this and will e-mail it to you if you think it would be helpful.

yes we changed the stylesheets lately for faster page load.

They should work just fine normally but some tutorials are way too wide, so problems occure.

Please report here exactly which tutorials or other pages are cousing troubles.

Thanks You,
George

Hey George,

I notice alot of rollover images wanting to open my debugger, you know, i told you the other day about it, weird enough this only happens while pages are loading, when they're done loading everything looks cool. This is mainly in the: news items, tutorial and Extensions sections. And offcourse there's the thingy i mentioned when you try to reply when not logged in for the rest the zone runs smoothly

I'll let you know if i bump into more weirdo thingies that weren't intended to be there.

Hi George,

The horizontal and vertical scrollbars that now appear do allow one to see all of the tutorial content now, albeit with interruption to the flow of reading and following the tutorial due to the need to now vertically scroll all the way down to the end of the tutorial content on the page to horizontally scroll (to expose the right-sided content), and consequentially having to scroll vertically (upwards) once again to then view the right-sided content. Additionally , because the left-sided content is now hidden the user must vertically scroll down to the end again, horizontally scroll (this time in the opposite direction to expose the left-sided content), then vertically scroll upwards once again to be able to view the left-sided content. Then one must repeat these actions multiple times to be able to make it through the tutorial. This is less than ideal, of course.

If the content of a tutorial goes past a certain width, perhaps it might be better to have the author link to another page to view the tutorial rather than force the user to repeatedly scroll horizontally and vertically to view it all?

I think it may be found very confusing and annoying to have to repeatedly scroll up and down as well as horizontally to read the tutorial in it's entirety. It certainly would seem to reduce the clarity, ease of use, and usability of the tutorial at the very least.

Best regards,

Jean-Marie

Yes Jean-Marie you are absolutely right.
I fixed the layout problem so you get now scroll bars - but I agree it is definately not nice.

The original author should fix its tutorial too - it is too wide and unbreakable.
