We start out with an article about Google Maps – an excellent framework provided by Google for free, Alex July will show you how to incorporate Google Maps into your web pages.Then it is time to move on to filter data with the DataGrid control, Kevin Koch will show you how to create a filter that allows users to search by a particular column for partial string data matches, and rebind the results all in a fraction of a second.
We have a great interview with the product manager of Fireworks CS3, Danielle Beaumont. She talks about new features, great resources, the positioning of Fireworks in relation to other Adobe products and its future.
Next up, Sas Jacobs teaches you all you need to know about drop down boxes in a form that are populated using an Ajax approach. She shows how to load a drop down box and populate a second drop down box with related entries. Sas will use dropdown box with countries and a second drop down box that will show the states or provinces in the selected country as an example.
Alex July will show you how to build a simple Accordion component – an interface element allowing user to collapse and expand portions of content (further referred to as “panels”) organized in a column-like layout. External content can be loaded dynamically as the container expands (the AJAX part).
