Using Images in WordPress
How to upload images as well as how to size them so they fit in your theme
If you want to streamline your images for your WordPress (WP) blog, Linda shows how to do this in this tutorial. You'll learn how to upload images as well as how to size them so they fit in your theme.
Clearing Confusion over WP Media
A few people have asked me about the images section in the WP dashboard settings, so I want to spend time going over those issues and more in this article. You can learn how to deal with the "Media" settings as well as your "Media Library" through the information provided below. "Media," in all senses, means the images, videos, recordings and files that you upload and use in your blog. In this article, I will focus only on images in the basic WP format, regardless of theme, and I'll approach theme issues and other media files such as video and PDF files in the next few weeks.
Media typically is uploaded and inserted into blog content when you write a post or page. To start, you need to be sure that you are uploading Media to the correct files within your blog. Often, this is where the confusion begins, so I'll start with that issue.
Note that all images in this article were obtained from the dashboard of a site that was recently upgraded to WP 2.9.2 – so, if some images don't look familiar, then back up your files and apply a free upgrade to get up to speed.
