DMXzone reCAPTCHA On Its Way

November 28, 2011

Protect your website from spam and automated abuse!

During the past few weeks we received numerous requests about a Dreamweaver reCAPTCHa extension and here's the answer of your appeals! DMXzone reCAPTCHA is using Google's reCAPTCHA service that prevents your website from being abused by spam bots or any other automated programs.

The Story

About reCAPTCHA:

With DMXzone reCAPTCHA you can protect any web form from saving unwanted information in the database, blog/website/forum from spam posts, and many many more. It works great with our Universal Form Validators ASP/PHP and prevents your login/registration or any form being computer filled.

To make information more accessible to the world, multiple projects are currently digitizing physical books that were written before the computer age. The book pages are being photographically scanned, and then transformed into text using "Optical Character Recognition" (OCR). The transformation into text is useful because scanning a book produces images, which are difficult to store on small devices, expensive to download, and cannot be searched.

Great Potential - Keep your eye on this one...

November 28, 2011 by Ben Clark

I have used Google's reCaptcha on a number of sites and it is an excellent tool.  Though it is relatively easy to use, DMXZone has a gift for building extensions for these types of apps and eliminating any hassle learning to implement the app on your site.

Just look at Nivo Slider, DMXZone Supersized, HTML 5 MP3 Player and a number of other recent extensions.  Sure, you could download them for free and spend hours determining which options you would need for your particular usage... but why do that when it is super-easy using the DMXZone extension to do the grunt-work for you. If you are a loyal customer and are lucky enough to catch the extensions upon release, these types of extensions are usually less-than $30 USD... tending to be in the $25 range depending on the complexity of the extension itself.

I know the first few times I implemented reCaptcha, I spent more than two hours learning it and deciding which options I needed to set to use it - having to go back and re-learn it the next time I needed to use it.  If you bill anywhere near what I bill, you would have lost a lot more learning the app than buying the extension.

I find this to be true with most of the extensions DMXZone has released.  Just remember to post in the "bug" forum if you find a bug.  When Lubov is watching the forums, you can expect a response in a business day or two and he will do his best to see your issue is resolved.

You can count me as a sale on release day.
