I´m agree with serials or measures against piracy, but I think it´s no honest to limit installations, when we pay for this extensions this measures were no note, I think is an ilegal measure. if you decide apply this measure unilaterally without custumers opinion, yo have to recharge money to customers with disagrees about it.

I would like you change 3 installations measure, or to make a poll about it. I think many people are agree about this opinion.

Installation Failure

I would like to know why I can't get the installation to work at all. I have tried twice now and keep getting a invalid path error message. I'm not determining the path so why do I get this message. Your installation program is not working. Please fix it and let us know when we can actually install the extension we paid for.

I think DMXZone have shot themselves in the foot with this one, by not explaining it thoroughly. Like the other posters, I was upset by this, thinking I was only getting 3 installations. However, as I understand it, we have unlimited installations when we buy the extension; we just get 3 automatically. If we need more, we just email them, and they reset the counter. We'd best email them immediately when we've done our 3rd install.

The real problem at issue here is that DMXZone have not explained themselves very well, and have produced a system that causes offence and misunderstanding. My suggestion would be to have a "cooling-off" period, of about 4 weeks, where you return to the old system, then re-introduce a serial number system, and explain it a bit better without upsetting people.

I respect copyright, and am happy to use a system that protects your copyright. Just get it right next time, and we'll be your friends for life.

With more installations available by request you would think the problem is solved. However delighted I am with the products (very) there is still a worry in my mind that one day this site will be gone, and or the people supporting this product. Good old Microsoft systems produce an enviroment where reformats are commonplace, meaning that Dreamweaver re-installs are also needed.

What long term plans have they for this registration support, or are they expecting us to not need this extension in a couple of years?

I personally have used an install program to monitor the registration process and create an exe file of the whole event to protect myself from loss of use.

Front my point of view it is totaly abusive.

All of us know how Windows fails continuoly, and we also know that it is necessary to reinstall some times a year, and of course DW. Further more, even if Windows were perfect and never crashed, our computer, the hard disk, anything can fail and that usually happends when there is a lot of work and we are in a hurry.

What would happend if I have to reinstall DW on Saturday night and I have to finish a web site for Monday morning, will you reset the 3 times counter for me on time?

You should add a serial number generator at our 'MyDMXZone', so we can get a serial # for the extensions we have paid for at anytime we need it.

That would be fair!
