While I'm in the process of adding images to a Lightbox, the entire Dreamweaver CS6 interface crashes. If I move really FAST, I can get 4 or 5 images loaded and then save it, but it's a race against the clock.

Hello Warren,

Can you please describe the issue a little more detailed? When exactly does it crash - during the import process or after it? Are you using the resizer? How big your images are?

Here's my work flow.

I export my images in 1024x1024 sizing at a low resolution, so that they are roughly 128k or so in size. These all go into a directory appropriate to the page I want to create.

In Dreamweaver, I take one of my existing slideshow pages, cut out the existing code to create an insert point, rename the page accordingly and activate your Insert function.

I was initially resizing to 800x600 with 182x182 thumbnails.
Now I'm using 1024x768 with 182x182 thumbs.

I've found if the NAME I give the Group has spaces, like "Route 66" - as opposed to "Route66", it crashes the second the applet returns from the Import command and populates the image list. Happens every single time.

It seems your code does not correctly parse spaces in Image file names either.

Initially, I was creating the gallery by importing one image at a time - until I figured out the icon for importing an entire folder. Doing one image at a time, I then would start adding the names of the image in the window below the image listing. I'd get through 5 or so before it would crash Dreamweaver and I'd have to start over.

Again, it seems your system hates spaces. I am now forced to rename all the images in a folder, deleting spaces if I want an import to not immediately crash Dreamweaver.

Also, how about having the interface be able to select the Exif data you want for a caption instead of having to label each one individually? This takes me an eternity for each gallery and it's a royal PITA. The HTML5 Slideshow does this really well.

One more thing.
How about generating a line feed between rows? I spend a lot of time inserting CR at the end of each row and pasting in   to create a space.

Hello,

Actually there are no any known issues with the spaces in the filenames, but anyway the web standards suggest not to use spaces in the filenames but underscore for example. So when naming your files use one of those methods:
road66.jpg, road_66.jpg or road-66.jpg
The Exif data is currently not accessible within ligtbox, but i will discuss your suggestion with the developers.

My default file names frequently have spaces, as I work on a Mac. I hot on Linux, so the web hosting OS solves that issue nicely. Any decent app (Photoshop for example) fixes this for me when I "Save for Web" which I do if I'm posting images directly online. Otherwise I assume the app will concatenate the file names in processing. That actually is good practice.

Regardless of what you've found, your app continues to CRASH Dreamweaver CS6 under these conditions, so I suggest you do more testing. For paid apps, I expect them to not crash other apps. That's what I'd call bad thread handling.
