I've started adding server & client validation to all my forms.

So I'm setting up the server validation first.

Global Input Validation:
Export validations to form
Checked Auto Export on Action Save

This should automatically create Client Validation on the relevant form fields.

However the Server Action does not SAVE, as soon as I add the validation to the $_POST variables under GLOBALS.

Server Connect is latest version 1.3.2
DW CS6

The server validation is exported to the form, when you click SAVE in the server action panel, in order to save your action file.

If 'Auto Export on Action Save' is unchecked, then it does save the action.
As soon as I check this box, it won't save.

If I click 'Export validations to Form', client validations are not created.

Do you mean that when you click SAVE and the Auto Export on Action Save is enabled, your action file is not saved?

Strange, this seems to be related only to old DW versions like CS6 / works fine on CC+. We will check if this can be fixed in the upcoming updates.

Thanks Teodor - I'll wait for the fix before adding any more validations.
In the meantime I suppose it's OK to add the client & server validations separately?
Just double the amount of work of course ...

Well you can add the clientside validation and then just Import form into the server connect globals ... it imports the validations also.

I've found another problem with the Validate Data in Server Connect.
I want to check if a record exists in the database before inserting, but the Validate Data dialog box does not have any content - just a grey box.

Could this be a DW CS6 problem as well?

The update is coming on Wednesday.

The update fixing this issue has just been released. Please update your extensions - DMXzone Server Connect and HTML5 Form Validator.

Teodor - there's still a problem with the Validate Data action.
I can add the name, expression, linked field & validation rule, but when I save this, then save the action steps, then click on the'Validate Options' button again, it loses the name & expression and replaces the name with 'validate_1'. Clears the expression entry.

Also get a 'Copy Dependent Files' popup repeatedly for:
dmxConnectLib/lib/core/Parser.php

I've closed DW CS6 then reopened, but does not fix this issue.

Hi Teodor - any luck with this Validate Data issue?

The Parser.php file is updated every time I open a page that uses Server Connect. File date & time is set to current. The 'Copy Dependent Files' popup appears each time.

Please update server connect and parser.php issue will be fixed. An update for the validator which fixes this will be released in the upcoming few days.

No Copy Dependent Files message appearing now.

Unfortunately I am still having the same problem with the Server Side Validator not saving the Expression. When I open the Validate Data Action it clears the Expressions entirely.

If I paste the Expression in it saves, if I use the picker it does not...

So for now I have got it to work but there must be some kind of bug..?
