Ok guys (gals)...great site. I mean it, I am really happy with all the information that I am coming across. I just ported over from www.flashkit.com, which is a similar site devoted to Flash. FK is superb and I have been spoiled so I am really happy to find UDZ. I noticed that there are hardly any members posting to the boards tho'. Any reason why interaction is so low? I would have thought that people would be yelling over the top of each other at such a kewl site!

There are no "webmasters"...only "webstudents". Now, snatch the floppy from my hand, grasshopper.

There are two reasons why FlashKit.com has more visitors than UDZone.com.
1. FK is much older site
2. More 'web developers' are using Flash then UltraDev 'couse it's much easier to use, more 'flashy'... People are trying to avoid programming if they can so they think that Flash is the best way. Make site quickly, let it move, play some music... There is an army of 'I want to be web developer but I don't want to learn how to programm'.

i gotcha.
I understand the lack of userbase because the site is younger, after browsing around I have noticed that a lot of the areas are either really light on content or have a large amount of external links to fill the "meat" of the topic. I certainly did not mean the comment as a bad thing. In fact, I am hoping to help change the issue by participating as much as I can.
UDZ "feels" right. Even if a lot of the content is still coming "on-line", I think that is a perfect time to hop on. I get to be a part of that experience, and that's great!
I don't believe that the lack of userbase is what I was referring to however. Of the users you have, I believe them to be a less, uh..."verbose" crowd than what we find at FK. I noticed that a lot more of your users have member names that closely mirror their "real" names. I have also noticed a more "down to business" approach to the posts. I think that the UD crowd in general is possibly a bit more "serious" than the "Flasher" community. However, as light as FK posting can be in nature, try hard-coding 50 frames of "swarm" behaviour to 150 instances of a firefly clip that is reactive (conversely) to mouse or keyboard input and I think you will have a new appreciation of ActionScript's/Flash's depth (although not necessarily FK member's depth!)
Anyway, glad to be here! I already learned new things and hope that I can contribute in some way.

peace;

Exactly.. it's not really a 'forum-based' community that we are serving. To be honest... I do have weeks that I forget to take a look here. I'm glad that there are some enthousiastic moderators that do! But let's hope that more people will be using this forum soon, cause it means more page hits for UDzone

(I know this from experience: our dutch site www.FlashFreaks.nl has a very active forum and it really pushes the pagevie numbers up)

Wow a real live active topic!

Just kiddin

I have to agree though. This site is fantastic and is one of the few places I have found useful Fireworks information.

I'm doing my best to keep the Fireworks forum alive...which is actually a joke considering how much I know. But happy to help a newbie out.

Any more info on customising Fireworks would be great

Keep up the good work
