Please tell us:

Does this occur locally (testing) or on your production server?
Platform / Service Pack of the server (testing or production)
Release of MySQL/MyODBC
Contents of your connection string (be sure to *** your password).
Other code that might affect this failure.
Is this new development or converted from Access / SQLServer / CF, etc.?

It sounds like an IIS config problem, but we can't tell until you elaborate.

Same error as the dude below, really driving me crazy.

Trying to set up my new site with testing server being a dedicated server in the USA.
Servers running apache, MySQL 3.23.36 and PHP Version 3.0.15

I am able to connect to MySQL databse using phpMyAdmin and have a few tables set up but when trying to create a connection in DWX I keep getting the error "Error 405, method not allowed".

No pages set up or anything as this is a new site I am creating and it looks like I can't even start as I can't connect to my database.

I am getting the same error but while attempting to attach to an MS Access database. I am taking an ASP course at a community college and I am using a different web host than everyone else in the class. I also am the ONLY one in the class having this problem so it leads me to think that it has something to do with the web server configuration. I am using Dreamweaver MX. I did read on Macromedia's forum that some people who upgraded from 6.0 to 6.1 had begin experiencing HTTP Error 405. There is a remedy posted there.

Managed to sort it out for my database.

My hosts hadn't set up my MySQL database correctly, works without issue now.
