You definitely have an issue on that page in Netscape 4.x.

But I noticed you also have the Layer Genie onResize handler on that page, while Layer Genie itself is not being used.
Try removing Layer Genie from the onResize event of the <body> tag and see if that helps.

An additional thing you might try is to apply the ReDoIt behavior by ProjectSeven (www.projectseven.com) to the onResize event of the <body> tag. If you do, then make sure ReDoIt is the 1st thing listed for the onResize event.

Please post back here to let me know if these suggestions help.

I'm sorry, I did not look close enough... <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle> Layer Genie is used on that page to make the fading background appear.

Please try the ReDoIt suggestion and let me know if that helps.

I added the ReDoIt script from PVII and that is now running on the same link as above but it does not seem to fix the issue <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

What seems to be happening is that something is looping before it can center the items horizontally??

Hi Ben,

I've had a closer look at what's happening on that page, but it seems you've indeed found a bug in Persistent Layer Pro.
I will fix it and release a new version within the next few days.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards, Marja

I just purchased the pro version (may 5) and the bug is still there. I purchased it because it said it worked for all the listed browsers, but I am seeing the same bug...I see that this post was 4/23...any ideas when this will be updated?

I think I might have tried to resize, too--because the bottom layer was half-hidden and I wanted to see if resizing would cause it to reposition in the correct location. But instead, NN4x freaked out and started flashing the hourglass rapidly. I had to quit to get out of it.

Will purchasers of Persistent Layer Pro be automatically notified of the update when released? Will they get the fix for free?

Donna

That problem should already be solved in the extension version you just bought (1.0.3), as that version was released on April 30th.

Do you have the Netscape Resize Fix on your page?

Can you show me an URL where you see this problem so I can take a look?

Actually, it does seem to work for me in NN4x. But your Demo page doesn't.

But, I am now finding that using the persistent layer causes all other layer positioning (done with Snap Layer and Auto Layer by PVII) to break on resizing the window, even with ReDoIt. Is this a known behavior?

Basically, I have a page that uses a centered anchor graphic (10x10 spacer) to position several other layers, which works great. But when I add your script to position a layer and keep it so it positions on resize and scrolling, the other layers no longer position on resize.

I'll put the page up and get back to you with a URL.

Hey, no problem. I use PVII's behaviors a lot, so if you can get this working with those, then GREAT! I bought your pro version right away because I love the bouncy sort of animation. I saw this effect at GlassDog.com (I think it is your extension) and love it.

Anyway, thanks for such a great extension and I'll look for updates so I can begin to use your behaviors with PVII's.

You can download from the PLP product page.
But you should have received an email just yet with a direct link to that page?
