Hi Marja:

While I have not yet started using your scroller, I will be shortly. I expect I will be as pleased with this extension as I am with LG.

I will actually be replacing an existing scroller on the Oaks|Design site (www.oaksdesign.com) with yours. One of many features that was missing from this scroller was bookmark support. That is, it would be nice to be able to embed a bookmark tag within the scrolling content and then use a link external to the scroller to cause it to scroll to that point. As a programmer, I recognize that this is probably non-trivial. I present this to you as a technical challenge <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>.

The scroller I was using provided a function for scrolling to the specified vertical location. This is a start but really not sufficient since whenever the text changed you need to recalculate the vertical positions. I don't see that it's possible to create cross-browser code that "seeks" to a bookmark, but I believe it might be possible to have a DW command or something that pre-processes the scrolling layer in order to determine the correct vertical coordinates for the bookmarks.

I hope you'll consider this challenge, as I think it's an extremely useful feature.

Thanks Marja!

Hi Rob,

I think by 'bookmark support' you mean 'anchor support' (jumping/scrolling to a named A tag within the scroller)?
Because in that case I think that should be possible, and I will definitely look into it.
I've got some ideas, so keep an eye on this forum post... <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I do, of course, mean anchor support. My head was, apparently, rather elsewhere when I was composing that post.
