PLEASE, PLEASE someone tell me why Ultradev V1 shuts down on my windows XP machine whenever I click Modify - Connections - New (trying to connect to a new Data Source Name). As you can imagine this makes connecting to a databse impossible.

I had DMX 2004 and when ever I created a site or edited a site it shut down.
I never figured out why.
after formating my hd and reinstalling dmx it worked fine.

this may sound crazy, but i think it had to do with a javascript inside a site i was working on, because this happened on 2 machines.

smokedog30 is talking UltraDev, and that's exactly what I'm having a problem with. I can use DWMX just fine on this Windows 2000 machine, but just like smokedog30, Modify-->Connections-->New = dead stop. Everything just closes.

You can find a common list of known issues here:

www.macromedia.com/support/ultradev/ts/documents/ud_crash.htm

<ul>
<li> don't install with A/V software running </li>
<li> supposedly nVidia video cards not using the latest Detonator Drivers can cause this conflict (why???), </li>
<li> as can Diamond and Savage video cards. </li>
<li> Having DW3 installed can cause a conflict, </li>
<li> And sometimes turning off Hardware Acceleration (Control Panel--&gt;System--&gt;Performance--&gt;Graphics) can solve the problem (again, why???).</li></ul>

None of these is my case, though. And because I have a specific need for UltraDev, I can't just use my copy of MX.

If anyone knows of any other suggestions, I'd love to hear 'em.
