I'm new to PHP and I am interested in purchasing the smart mailer plugin for DW

I have recently been obliged to dump one of my email address because of spam so I have few security concerns:

- is there a difference between smtp or sendmail forms ? wich one is best/most secure ??

- If I use smart mailer for a contact form, is the email address of the sender/recipient available for spambots or are these addresses hidden

- does smart mailer check the domain before sending an email -- I mean does it prevent somebody else to use my mailform for sending spam ??

I might be overparanoid concerning spams, but there seems to be so many spammers around on the net <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>
