Got it, except for this:

I can't just 'fix' your code for you, because to make this work you need a standard DW script on your page which only gets inserted there when you use the corresponding behavior.

But here's how to do that:
<ul><li>make sure you're in Design View for your document</li><li>in the lower left corner of the document window click on the &lt; body &gt; tag</li><li>in the behavior panel, select 'Show-Hide Layers'</li><li>in the dialog select the layer named 'dmx1Scroller' and set it to 'show' and click OK</li><li>verify in the behavior panel that the selected event for the behavior is 'onLoad'</li></ul>
The behavior is now applied to the BODY tag and it will show the scroller when the page is finished loading.

That is just what I needed. I just popped the top off of my champange. Now back to where I left off days ago, before I found out my original scroller wouldn't work for this project. Life... forever a learning experience!
