HELP, update of memo field in Access crashing mdb

I've beaten my head againts this for two weeks and would appreciate any help.

I've rebuilt pages etc. etc.

Insert and update work, but updating of records with data in the memo field seem to crash/corrupt Access--but only on those records.

The problem seems to narrow down to updating a record's memo field. It works once or twice, then Access becomes corrupt -- yet the records without memo field data work.

WWW error notes 'search key not found in any record'.

The errors are consistent. Compact/repair of Access is only a temporary fix--and yields a note that 'user unexpectantly closed Access while still in use'.

I've moved the memo field to the end of the ASP code so it's the last item, but this didn't solve the problem.

I've upgraded to MS Access 2003 and MDAC 2.8 etc. etc.

HELP!

This may shed light on the problem, that somehow, maybe indirectly was linked with Adv HTML

forums.aspfree.com/t18419/s.html

Seems a space in an Access field name caused the corruption, but was inconsistent . . . and showed only on records with large text in Adv HTML field (though it was named fine . . .)

Very odd.

bob i appreciate your trying to get something fixed, but stop posting this question in different formats in different forums, its spamming, and no-one likes spamming.

Hi,

I think you can try a utility called Advanced Access Repair to repair your Access MDB file. It works rather well for my corrupt Access MDB files. Its web address is www.datanumen.com/aar/

Just post to hope this will help in the future.

For working out present condition you may use recovery for access. It has many various features such as working under all popular Windows OS, using modern methods of recovering mdb data. The tool doesn't modify source access data during restoration.
