I need to create angled buttons, side by side, and attach a slice to each to create a swap image with Frame 2. I can create the angled slice by adding a Hotspot first then converting to a slice (through insert) BUT I can't then create a swap image: none of the slices will appear in the select slice zone of swap image. The window to the left will show all the slices, but not to the right where I need to select the swap.
I've tried creating slices manually with the polygon tool but while the slice itself is shaped, it still cuts to a square to encompose the entire area, which then, of course, creates overlapping.
Any ideas around this problem would be hugely appreciated.

I use Fireworks like everyday...can you share the file with me? I might be able to trouble shoot it for you....
