I have tried everything. I can not get dreamweaver to connect to mySQL. I keep getting "An unidentified error has occured". It must be a setting conflict. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Are you trying from your machine (local), or a web server. If web server, have you contacted your host to see if you have the correct settings?

I am currently connected to my "localhost". I am using mySQL Administrator and mySQL Query Browser along with Apache. Do you know if I have to setup mySQL or Apache and point it to my "localhost" folder?

When I type localhost/ in my browser, I see info in that folder. This, I think, indicates that Apache is setup correctly. I am stuck at this point. There isn't a tutorial that I can find that walks you through setting up MySQL, Apache, and FTP in detail. Anyway, I hope someone can help. Thanks.

Hmm, is your DW recently installed? Have you connected in other <i>Server Model(s)</i> (ASP/JSP/.NET)?

DW has, built in, tutorials & walkthroughs on setting up a <i>Connection</i>. You can access them from your HELP menu. Also, here at DMXzone there's article: www.dmxzone.com/showDetail.asp?TypeId=28&NewsId=6949

I have been using DW for quite some time. The tutorials in DW don't really explain how to install and setup ftp, mySQL, apache, etc. so I haven't found them very helpful. I need to find someone who has been down this road using windows. Do you know of anyone? Thanks.

For anyone who cares. I fixed the problem by downloading a bundle from easyPHP. This includes MySQL, PHP and Apache. After installing Dreamweaver connects without any setup.

Cool! Sounds like there was some Apache/MySQL/PHP config issue. Glad there's a link like easyPHP with premade bundles! <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
