I tried to use the extension flashalbum generator. With the browsers Firefox, Netscape and Opera (mozilla) the player seems not to work correctly ( a little image is only seen in high to left )

Indeed a bug the width and height were not entered on the embed tag.

Anyway I just fixed it - so download version 1.01 and install it again. You will need to generate your gallery again.

George

I am also having issues with Firefox. The thumbnails populate, but I get no main image, just a "loading image" message that never goes away. Also the thumbnails look dark. I DO have version 1.01

Make sure you uppload all the needed files to your live server. Also the generated XML file.
As the alert states when the album is succesfully generated.

George

I found out what the problem is: The xml file has an absolute path for the images, and when it is done locally looks like this: "file:///C/sokkit/site/surapine/slideshow/", and when I uploaded this to the server, Firefox would display dimmed thumbnails and no image. I then changed the image path to an absolute path on my main server ("www.johnomelia.com/surapine/slideshow/" - you can go take a look at the album there) and it worked fine. This also made me realize that a dimmed thumbnail also means there is no main image for that thumbnail. Interesting feature - can help in debugging.

I'm surprised I had no problem on IE with the "file:///C/" path. Any ideas why?

Please make sure that the page with the Flash Album on it - is saved in a site in Dreamweaver first.
This way Dreamweaver knows the local path and won't use full paths

It was saved in Dreamweaver, but I discovered something else. When I had the images saved to the same folder as the HTML file, I got an absolute path, but when I created a separate 'images' folder within that foilder and saved them there, I got a relative 'images' path.

I see - will check it out, It is however wise to always have your images in separete folder
