I am looking at replacing my slideshow with active slideshow but have a couple of questions:

1. I do not use dreamweaver; is the interface fully documented
2. Is it completely driven by an XML file and is the schema public?
3. Are there any security issues with respect to multiple domains where the images are being sourced from.
4. How is the Ken Burns effect configured with respect to pan - start/stop, zoom, etc.
5. Can you think of anything which is not configurable, e.g., transition time, hold time, etc.

Thanks,

Ron

Well the best way is really to use it via DW as it automates the whole process from image resize to xml generation.

You can use it also separate the xml file pretty simple - just list of files and a header for the main options.

yes it is completely driven by an xml file

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>
3. Are there any security issues with respect to multiple domains where the images are being sourced from.
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

No you just purchase a single copy per developer (you) and then you can use it on as many sites as you develop.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>
4. How is the Ken Burns effect configured with respect to pan - start/stop, zoom, etc.
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
The effect is choosen completely random, based on transition time and also image format. So that it looks always great.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>
5. Can you think of anything which is not configurable, e.g., transition time, hold time, etc.
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

All options apply to the whole slideshow - there is no control for options per slide.

Greetings,
George
