I had the idea of putting a flash movie with words fading in and out on the same page as my active slideshow. I know I can put type on the slideshow, but I thought this would be more effective. But I have had trouble making this work. When previewing it, the slideshow works but the flash movie won't play.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
David

Hi David,
You should be able to insert other flash movies (swf) just as any other images in the slideshow and they should play automatically.
Is there anything special with your swf? Do you have a live sample of ot and also of the slideshow using it?
Greetings,
George

I think I may not have explained myself very well.
I was hoping to insert both an active slideshow pro file in my Dreamweaver page and along side it, I was hoping to insert a flash movie. The idea was use the flash file to give a running commentary (i.e., text blocks fading in and out) on the contents of the slideshow.
Is it possible for the active slideshow and a separate flash movie to run simultaneously in Dreamweaver?
Or can you insert the active slideshow into a flash movie?

Hi David,
Yes you can have as many flash objects on your page as you wish. So another flash movie next to the slideshow won't be a problem at all. You can even have multiple slideshows on the same page.
I would suggest however - if you need more text comments - you can add those in the Active Slideshow Pro as well! This way you will have better control over the texts, effects and timing.
Greetings,
George
