Fade Transition is very jerky

A problem arises during the "fade" transition. When the two images merge, the whole image becomes jerky. This faulty effect only lasts during the transition time.

The problem only exists with the "Fade" transition and with no other transition effect. The CPU usage is the same as with all other effects.

As mentioned somewhere else, to get the original Ken Burns effect, the start and end position was set to random - also the zoom start and zoom end point was set to 0 %.

Beside the recommendation to make the images 30% bigger than the slide show viewer frame, because of causing pixelation, this jerky manner does not occur with the predecessor product (not Pro Version).

The unpleasant effect is reduced, if you choose a smaller viewer size and/or an over-sized image, but that can't be the only way. Meanwhile, I have seen that problem on several sites and I'm sure other users have noticed the same thing.

In order to make the effect more visible, I've made the slide show viewer size 50% bigger as the image and compared it to the first issue of Active Slideshow, as shown in the links below.

Active Slideshow (very smooth):

Any help or suggestions out there?

Thanks!

Hi Rolf,

Thank you for this very detailed report! Now we can see clearly the problem and investigate what is causing it.
Will post here when we find out more.

Btw you have your embed wrong - it points to a different xml file that can not be found - so it doesn't work in Firefox.

Greetings,
George

Hi George,

I’m still waiting for a solution I described in April. Could you find something meanwhile?
The contribution of <b>yikes ahootie</b> www.dmxzone.com/forum/topic.asp?topic_id=34974&NewsId=11360 based probably on the same problem, what do you think?

Best Regards,

Rolf

I have been watching this thread every few weeks since purchasing the extension in April. When I read:

I assumed the problem was acknowledged and there would be a follow up. The extension is almost excellent but spoilt by this flaw.

I understand the previous version (which I did not own) did not have this problem. I expect the features in this version may be sufficient for what I want (eg I don't so far have any need for overlays).

If the issue will not be addressed, it would seem reasonable to offer owners of the current version a free download of the previous version. Assuming this older version works with DW 8.0.2, such an offer would be much appreciated (though not as much as a fix for the current version).
