Are these layers or windows? Can the background be transparent? Ideally I'd like to be able position elements (possibly transparent gifs or pngs) anywhere on the screen and have the popup blend in with the design of the page it's overlaying as opposed to having a very obvious separate window overlay and obscure the main design.

Hi David,

Advanced Layer Popup is not a new window (although some of its styles can make it look like one).
It is based on iframes, JavaScript and CSS and exist until the parent window is closed.

Initially Advanced Layer Popup does not provide functionality to hide the title bar and close buttons.

But it could be accomplished with manual modification of the original files of the extension.
The following FAQ explains how this can be accomplished:

I hope that you will find this information useful.

Thanks, George. Good to know the border and title bar can be hidden by adjusting some CSS. How about the background of the layer - can that be made transparent?

Unfortunately, currently you can only change the background color of Advanced Layer Popup. But you cannot make it transparent.
