How do I add this a fading ticker to a div so I can position it?

This may well be basic stuff but can someone help.

I have found a great fading news ticker: www.texotela.co.uk/code/jquery/newsticker/ I am definitely no code expert so can you talk me through how I add this function (the one under the word EXAMPLE) into a div so I can position it.

I have downloaded the jquery.newsticker.pack.js and jquery.newsticker.js files and added a new class for .newsticker

Any help much appreciated.

I thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnel but it was someone with a torch bringing me more work!
