OK, so you changed to euro. I don't think in Euro, so this is yet another reason why I might not buy again from DMXZone. I don't feel I should have to "think" about how much something costs. This may sound like an elitist American speaking, but really why can't you make it optional for both the website and mailings to choose what price is displayed? My point is why should anybody who uses either currency have to think about converting the price to figure how much something costs? At the very least, have BOTH prices listed and let the shopping cart control which currency the person is paying with. The switch is fine, but don't make it harder for people to buy from you. You're keeping the price in dollar anyway and made such a big deal about it in your mailing. Why make somebody go through the purchase dialog or use a converter to figure it out? That's completely silly.

Frankly, your breaking one of the accepted retail website 101 rules. Don't put hurdles in front of your potential customers...

Christopher,

I totally agree with you. It's a hurdle. According to the email about the conversion to Euro it would be easy to see the price in US$ by clicking the purchase button. No, it doesn't work.

DMX Zone,
I don't mind it defaulting to another currency on your site, but if you want my money then at least display it in my currency at the checkout.

I lived in the UK, moved to Canada for 3 years then to Ireland where I have been for six months, which currency should I think in?

on my website I put all three to give it an international flavour, however the US$ is not the only currency and the euro will be adopted for oil pricing in due course so you may have to get more used to it

I will have to get my Euros out of my wallet the next time an oil tanker pulls up to my dock then

But seriously, I have built ecommerce sites and would never consider selling internationally unless I set up our shopping cart to accept the currencies of the countries we wanted to do business in... a kind of "golden rule" applied to business.

Cheers, Dave

Exactly my point. It shouldn't be too difficult to have a setting to display the price in a currency relevant to the potential customer. It can be said that the US dollar is no longer the single dominant currency in the world. That is not the point at all. It's about good business practices. Does Amazon UK show pricing in US dollars? No. Does Amazon US show them in pounds? No.

Yes, its about being responsive to customer needs.

Anyone from DMX Zone care to comment on this? And why conversion to U$ isn't working?
