Make menu item 'unclickable'

In my navbar, a menu item expands into several choices when you mouseover. That same menu item is itself active and can be clicked to go to another page. But I don't want this to happen. I want only the expanded choices to be able to be clicked - NOT the original menu item.

What css command should I look for to change to accomplish this? Thanks and any help is greatly appreciated!

take the link from the main button and leave the link in the child sections on?
