Insert Date into MS SQL from text Field

Hi all..My page uses a form and a text field to insert a date into my ms sql database.
All works fine on my local machine, but when i try it on my live server i get this error!.
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'
Implicit conversion from data type nvarchar to varbinary is not allowed. Use the CONVERT function to run this query.
How can this be?
