<font face='Verdana'>I have done some slices with a roll-over on a menu. The weight of my page is about 50k </font id='Verdana'>www.riverdancer.com. The question is why does it take so long to load if the images are so small. This happens on all my sliced tables, I am about to give up on these roll-overs! ANy thought will be greatly appreciated!

The reason is multi-part. First of all the browser has to send much more requests to the server which also has to handle all of them. Secondly: most of the time the summed amount of kb to be loaded when the image is sliced is bigger than the amount of kb of the same but unsliced image. This is due to the fact that color tables now have to be sotred in the images individually.

I agree with Disorder - in that I noticed it preloads the other states as well...if u have 5 sections...and over/down, etc...thats up to 4 images x 5 = 20...then whatever else u have....shoot somebody in the foot if I'm wrong<img src=../images/fwzone/forum/icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

And one more thing: don't underestimate the lack of power of the javascript generated for your menu... remember Macromedia chose a relatively old js for that... something you could easily update yourself. Or submit a request to Macromedia to update it <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
