Use dmxAjaxForm() to ajaxify PAU3 without submitting form?

Support,We would like to have a single file upload input field.
No form.
No form action.
No submit button.
Does dmxAjaxForm() allow us to interface with PAU3 to do the upload by ajax, but let us then call a custom javascript function to do the rest of the work?
Instead of submit button, we would prefer to use .change() event on our file input field to trigger PAU3, without technically submitting our form.
